EAPG Duncan Button Arches Breakfast Set

Condition: Excellent

Sold

Price:

Gold decorated 6-piece breakfast set, in the Button Arches pattern (a.k.a. Scalloped Daisy), produced by George Duncan & Sons in 1897.  Set includes covered butter, covered sugar, creamer, and spooner.  Gold decoration is in good condition, and all pieces are in excellent condition with one exception; butter dish bottom.  It appears that something, possibly a knife, fell onto the butter dish bottom creating a chip and a 1/8 chip (see photos).  Also, a tiny fleabite exists in one of the points in the edge of the butter dish bottom.   Set is priced to more than compensate for the imperfections in the butter dish bottom.

A lovely and rare set which is pictured on page 32 of American Pattern Glass Table Sets, by Gene and Cathy Florence, copyright 2007, with a value of $250.
